STā’s multidisciplinary team brings experience across a wide range of sectors, which recently led to a collaboration with Hikitalo on their latest project—a first for Wales.

Located in the heart of Cardiff, the project transforms a previously underutilized site into a dedicated sauna destination. The design reimagines what was once an eyesore into an inviting outdoor environment, delivering a refined wellness and leisure experience for the surrounding community.

This exciting new project is the brainchild of Hikitalo Saunas, a team wildly passionate about authentic sauna culture. Having visited saunas around the world, from rural to coastal, to urban settings, the client had a vision and we were able to bring it to life.

The chosen site presented many challenges as well as opportunities—a disused parcel at the rear of a mixed-use building. To assure success, it required careful planning, imagination and a focus on efficiency.

To manage costs without sacrificing character, we proposed the use of reclaimed materials like whiskey barrels and weathered metal roofing. All together, we created a cohesive environment that feels international yet rooted in its setting.

This high-end fitout transforms a private trackside garage into a refined space for both car enthusiasts and casual gatherings. Designed to showcase a collection of luxury sports cars, the garage features custom cabinetry, integrated storage, and premium finishes that balance function with style.

A mezzanine level overlooks the track, providing a comfortable spot to watch races with family and friends. Modern lighting, curated art, and lounge areas make the space equally suited for entertaining as it is for storing and displaying high-performance vehicles. It’s a sleek, well-crafted environment that reflects the owner’s passion for motorsport and design.
